Let me begin by stating, I have my fair share of powder(pressed and loose) and even stick/cream type highlighters but my collection was lacking the right liquid formula. I have experimented with a number of liquid highlighters from the drugstore and dept. store counter but always found them to be rather frosty. I realize this sounds a little hypocritical as I love my sparkle but glaring frost is different (to me at least) than intricate sparkles and shimmers, especially when they are applied to the face.
Last week I was gifted Benefit's Girl Meets Pearl and I'm totally smitten with this softly shimmering golden baby pink complexion potion.
Girl Meets Pearl is a fluid, light weight highlighter that is easy to apply on the skin (I use a couple clicks of product and apply with my fingers). It's not sticky at all and gives just a little boost of light and dewiness to my skin. I have used it on the tops of my cheekbones as well as a brow highlight. The sparkle in this product is tasteful (but I love, love, love me some glimmer). The base color is an infusion of pearl baby pink and soft gold. It comes out of the applicator pink however, it changes to soft gold luminescent glow when applied to skin that is so pretty. It is scented with a soft sweet berry fragrance (that I don't mind) but if you are sensitive I would recommend trying it in person. I believe Girl Meets Pearl added to a favorite tinted moisturizer or foundation would give a flattering glow.
One caveat I see with this product- the click tube is small, and there's not much there, less than a half an ounce for a $30 price tag. Would I re-purchase, when this gift is empty? Probably, it's very pretty and easy to use.
Girl Meets Pearl gets the grade B+
