I guess I’m not meant to wear MAC’s Longwear type lipsticks. I’ve just never had good luck with them. In a previous rendition of longwear for MAC I’d end up with a ring around my lips that had color and nothing in the middle. If I wanted to play Ring Around the Rosy, I’d teach preschool. But I never give up so when MAC came out with the new Pro Longwear lipsticks I bought two again.
My first buy was Til Tomorrow. I hadn’t tried it on my lips but on my hand it looked so Marcia like, a nice mauve. I got it home, wore it and looked pretty bad. It just wasn’t right for my coloring. As one of my favorite MAC M.A.’s said, he thought it looked like “liver”. Too bad he wasn’t the one that waited on me the day I bought it. But I don’t give up easily since the lipstick seemed to wear pretty well. Back I went and bought Overtime. This one is a light pink but not super pale. It has some vibrancy to it.
When I first apply Overtime it feels delightful on my lips. Very moisturizing and pleasant to wear. Unfortunately over time (pun intended) it dries out and makes my lips feel tacky. It lasts decently until I eat something but it doesn’t feel good. I don’t want my lips to stick together and sometimes they do when I’m wearing this Pro Longwear lipstick. These are $19.50 so you can’t use Back2MAC to get them. I don’t intend to buy any more though so I guess that’s not a problem.
I can only give these a C+. They don’t leave a ring around my lips, they wear away evenly but they just don’t feel good to me.
