I don't usually love Clinique pencils but this one is perfection. The formula of this product is similar to Urban Decay 24/7 pencil liners. It glides on the lids without dragging, gives bold color in one stroke and lasts through a long day. The product applies somewhat moist, giving you a moment to adjust application; then it dries and locks down tight until you remove it with a good eyemakeup remover. Clinique calls the shaper "non-smudging, water-and transfer-resistant." I haven't done the swim test, but I have no problems with smudging or transfer with this liner.
The best feature of Egyptian is its unique color, described as a "blackened green with gold pearl." The soft shimmer in Egyptian plays off against light, gives a beautiful glint to neutral shades of shadow and adds a festive touch to whatever I'm wearing . It's a party in a pencil.
All Clinique products are allergy tested and fragrance free. This one is Ophthalmologist tested as well and my sensitive eyes are immensely grateful for that.
The only downside to this product (which is similar for all pencils of this type) is that it's so creamy it wears down quickly and needs to be sharpened about every second or third application. It sharpens nicely if you turn your sharpener slowly and carefully. No sharpener is included unfortunately, but the Sally's one works fine.
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide on eye pencil in Stash is much more olive and not as intense.
Prestige Total Intensity Eyeliner in Intense Olive is a close dupe to UD Stash, but less similar to Egyptian.
