The Estee Lauder website promotes their MagnaScopic Mascara as giving 'up to 300% thicker lashes' and 'super fast volume'. After using this for a month, I can tell you there is nothing thick or fast about this mascara.
I received a tube of it in a set as a birthday gift so I wanted to try it out. The good things I can say about this mascara is that it doesn't flake or smudge yet it's easily removed with soap or face wash. But an annoying thing is that, as with many mascaras, it's a complete mess to use in the first few weeks because way too much product comes out on the wand. I figured it would be easy to minimize the mess by wiping the wand off with a tissue first, but not so. It become more goopy somehow! I think it's because the bristles are stiff and short, making it impossible to blot much from them. Then it was time-consuming to need to comb MANY times to make my lashes look decent, so there went the 'fast' part of Estee Lauder's claim. In the end, my lashes had a deep black but still natural look to them, not dramatic whatsoever, even with two coats.
Given the price ($21), work involved and false marketing claims for this product, I can only award it a D. And happily move on to a better tube of mascara!
Estee Lauder MagnaScopic Mascara can be purchased at most major department stores and at www.esteelauder.com.
