I am totally hair obsessed. I think it began when my mother traumatized me by cutting my hair into a pixie cut in 9th grade because my cousin looked cute in it. Well I’m not my cousin, I’m not pixie-ish and it was the start of high school for goodness sake! The rest of high school was pretty traumatic too since I had to let it grow out and went through all those awkward stages. Then for prom my mom took me to the “hot” salon in town and they put my hair up in fancy curls – and I cried and cried. Since then I’ve chosen to wear my hair long and straight (except for the one year of THE PERM, OMG!!). I love straight hair and want to keep it that way for as long as I can get away with it.
My hair is currently just below my shoulders. In May I had the Brazilian Blowout done and it’s almost grown out. I’m still avoiding most frizz but not all. That’s where my newest love comes in. I don’t like fussy hair. I want to blow and go. I was using mostly Moroccanoil but alternating it with a few other things since my hair wasn’t lasting well after day one. I’d do my eeny-meeny-miney-moe routine and pick one of three products on my counter. nTrance is number 4 and it has pushed the others aside. I actually gave my sister my bottle of Moroccanoil and I never thought I’d do that.
nTrance is actually Argan Oil. It’s an oil from Morocco so it’s a cousin to Moroccanoil. It’s rich in Vitamin E, Omega 6, Omega 9, Lineolic Acid and unsaturated essential fatty acids. Now if you want a laugh and want to know the truth about Argan Oil, you need to read Gouldylox’s post about it. She didn’t scare me off but she sure opened my eyes to argan oil. According to nTrance’s website, the work of getting the oil out of the kernels is all done by hand.
The proof though is in the “pudding” – how does my hair look and how does it hold up? I’d say TERRIFIC! I’ve been able to blow my hair dry and totally ignore my flat iron. Normally my hair retains water and it takes forever to dry but with nTrance my hair is drying faster. The second day I might have to use the flat iron a little but that’s mostly on my bangs and the front of my hair. The amazing thing is that I don’t have to always wash my hair on the third day. That’s a rarity.
I love that this comes in a pump bottle. I’m able to get out the exact amount I want. If I want to add a little more I just pump a little more and get a drop or two. It can be used as a treatment and massaged into your scalp but I’ve just been using it for styling purposes. It’s good for your face and nails too.
Brighton Beauty Supply sells three different sizes of this. I’ve never purchased from them but they charge $14.35 for .05 oz, $17.99 for 1.7 oz and $35.05 for 4.2 oz.
My hair is never greasy or oily using nTrance. Instead it’s shiny, easy to manage, faster to dry and most important STRAIGHT and frizz free. No more pixies for me, I don’t care what anyone says!
